An estimated 124 members turned out for Lansing Central AA’s annual Celebration of Sobriety May 16 at the Hannah Community Center in East Lansing.
The event included a sobriety countdown that ranged from 54 years to three months. The newest member received a Big Book First Edition Reprint signed by those in attendance. A 50/50 raffle raised $600 in ticket sales, and the winner donated $200 of her winnings back to Central AA.
The event also include open shares, a pop-up bookstore and a potluck dinner. Activities Committee Chair Monica Z. said not much food was left, but everyone seemed to get their fill. She said special thanks are due to Mason Storytellers who, through Tony B., lent the centerpieces for the event. See you all next year.
